Sauerbrun becomes a Soured Bum with the Denver Broncos

Betrayed. Mislead. Left out.

That’s exactly what happened to punt kicker Todd Sauerbrun as the Denver Broncos management opted to release the now ex-Bronco after his suspension of four games, that means a month in NFL Football, was lifted. Todd Sauerbrun was sanctioned with a four-game suspension after using a banned dietary substance.

Sauerbrun’s agent, David Canter, thought he would be busy finalizing a contract with an NFL Football team with all those statistics his client brings on the NFL Football field.

The phone never rang.

”I fully expected Todd, the best punter in NFL history, statistically speaking, would be playing this week, and it doesn’t look like he is and that bothers me,” Canter said.

”Other players have done far worse things than taking an over-the-counter product and making one mistake, and several of those players are going to be playing this weekend. Todd deserves the same thing,” Canter added.

Canter was asked if NFL Football teams are deliberately staying away from Todd Sauerbrun because of his client’s issues outside the NFL Football field. Canter said, ”It is blatantly obvious that teams who need a punter aren’t calling for reasons other than football.”

Yep, apparently, these teams are so into building some kind of goody-goody team image bullshit and Sauerbrun is getting the SOUR end of the deal because of it. No pun intended.

”This is the greatest sport in the world, and Todd deserves to be part of it,” Canter said. ”I feel sad for NFL fans because one of the premier players in the league. And the fans of teams with that need are being ripped off because the best product won’t be on the field this week.”

Um… I know you’re upset and all Mr. Canter but I wouldn’t call a goddamn punter the best product in NFL Football. He’s a punter for crying out loud, someone who just puts the football away from his team’s own goddamn endzone. Sheesh…
